// POLISH:
Oj, Abram, bez ciebie nie ma mnie!
Bo bez siebie – ja i ty –
nie możemy być, ni żyć!
Pamiętasz, pamiętasz, jak przy bramie
sekret do ucha wyszeptałeś:
– oj wej, Rywkele,
dajże mi swój buziaczek!
Oj, Abram, bez ciebie nie ma mnie!
Bo bez siebie – ja i ty –
to jak klamka, lecz bez drzwi!
Pamiętasz, pamiętasz, na deptaku,
rzekłeś mądrej mi, głuptaku:
– oj wej, Rywkele,
dajże mi swój buziaczek!
Oj, Abram, bez ciebie nie ma mnie!
Bo bez siebie – ja i ty –
nie możemy być, ni żyć!
Pamiętasz sukienkę tę czerwoną,
i mnie – twą piękną, wymarzoną?
– Oj wej, Rywkele,
dajże mi swój buziaczek!
// ENGLISH:
Oh, Abram, I cannot be without!
Me and you – or you and me,
life without you cannot be!
Remember, remember in the gateway
whispering a secret into my ear?
– Oy vey, Rifkele!
Give me your lips right away!
Oh, Abram, I cannot be without!
Do I miss you or you miss me more?
Like a knob without a door!
Remember, remember, on the boulevard,
I – the smart one, you – silly lad?
– Oy vey, Rifkele!
Give me your lips right away!
Oh, Abram, I cannot be without!
Me and you – or you and me,
Life without you cannot be!
Remember, remember me in my red dress?
I was such a beauty back then!
– Oy vey, Rifkele!
Give me your lips right away!

Wonderful witchcraft and pure piano pleasure with vivid voice ventures! I adore this whole masterpiece. Thank you Lady Hania. It is a pleasure Ms. Rani. Wandowaiato
This is a richly layered composition- the music is wonderful- and the texts really work well with it. It feels like it's pushing Yiddish music forward while staying connected to the past.
I don’t have the gift of prophecy so I can’t predict the future- but I would not be surprised if years from now this will cunt among the classics of the repertoire of Yiddish music. Shamma Boyarin
